An outside panel of art experts made the selection from among 68 artists who applied.
The 2-D Newly Juried Artists include mixed media artist Julian Parker-Burns, who creates visions of converging
moments through the compiling, cutting, and layering of photographs and hand applying pigments. Two other
Newly Juried 2-D Artists include fine art photographer Sandy LeBrun-Evans and painter Margaret Cerutti.
Among the 3-D applicants, two ceramic artists were selected, Klaudia Levin and Vivian Johnson. Sculptor Erwin
Timmers, who works with recycled glass and metal objects, and jeweler Wiwat Kamolpornwijit who hand forms
original polymer clay jewelry using caning, weaving, layering, and other methods, were also among the 3-D artists
selected in this year’s annual jury process.
For the Torpedo Factory’s annual jury process, there are separate 3-person panels judging the 2-D work and the
3-D work. The jurors are highly qualified professional artists, curators, teachers, museum directors and the like,
who are independent of the Torpedo Factory. Their decision is final. They look for work that meets the highest
standards of professionalism and promise.
