2006 Friends of the
Torpedo Factory's Artist of the Year: Connie Slack, Splash of Red
An exhibition of recent work by painter and
2006 award winner Connie Slack. Slack has been an artist most of
her life. Though the style of her work is ever-changing, bold color
and dynamic composition remain constant to her large abstract paintings.
She often paints to music, her work reflecting its energy and rhythm.
Her award winning paintings are in corporate and private collections
nationally and internationally. This exhibition is sponsored by
the Friends of the Torpedo Factory Art Center (a separate nonprofit
organization) and is a competition that is only open to Torpedo
Factory Artists Association members. The award includes a monetary
prize and a solo exhibition in the gallery.
