Holiday Open House

Add a little Aloha to your holidays at the Torpedo Factory Art Center 's annual Holiday Open House! Warm up as you are transported to the tropics at this year's Hawaiian-themed party. Wear your favorite Hawaiian outfit and enjoy fun festivities as you wander from studio to studio stocking up on affordable, original artwork for everyone on your shopping list.

Ornament Decorating Workshop
Alexandria Archaeology Museum
Third Floor, Room 327
1-4pm, FREE
Be inspired by the colors and patterns of pottery excavated in Alexandria and make a memorable holiday keepsake! Participants can decorate and take home dough ornaments which are shaped like artifacts from the museum's own collection.

2nd Thursday Art Night: Chocolate and Shopping
Studios and Galleries Open 6 - 9pm, FREE Event
The Torpedo Factory celebrates the season with two holiday staples – chocolate and shopping! Studios and galleries will be open until 9pm for holiday shopping and indulgent treats and sparkling wine will make for a decadent evening. Visit Target Gallery from 6-8pm for the reception for Petri Dish and a wine tasting by Glen Manor Vineyards. Additional receptions will take place in The Art League Gallery and Studio 9. Take home a piece of holiday cheer at our DIY Ornament Making Station, and enjoy fun and festive activities throughout the evening! Click here for more information. |

Give Back!
Holiday Food Drive: November 25 - December 31
Make a contribution to a food drive benefiting Carpenter's Shelter. The Carpenter's Shelter is Northern Virginia's largest homeless support program and is dedicated to ending homelessness through services, education, and advocacy. The Torpedo Factory's food collection box will be in the main hall on the first floor from November 25th through December 31st .
Annual Toy Drive: Through December 16
Give underprivileged children a reason to smile by donating new toys, infant/toddler items, and grocery store gift cards to Community Partners for Children, a non-profit organization that collects and distributes school supplies, clothing, toys, and other items for disadvantaged children from newborns to teens. The Torpedo Factory Art Center will be collecting toys through December 16th with a box located by the main entrance. |
