PAMELA ZILLY studied
fine art photography at la Universidad de las Americas, Cholula,
Mexico and received a B.F.A. degree in photography from S.U.N.Y.
at New Paltz, NY. For over 26 years, Pamela has enjoyed a
career as a free-lance photographer where assignments have
taken her around the world.
Vivid colors, strong graphic compositions
and painterly light are distinguishing features in all aspects
of her work, but particularly evident in her series DECOMPOSITIONS
and DRY DOCK. "These images are the result of an on-going
fascination I have with the way nature and weather re-shapes
man-made materials and structures that I find in industrial
locations. I search for dramatic design elements and textures
that would normally go un-noticed."
Return trips to the colorful streets in
the Yucatan, Mexico have resulted in a collection called FACHADAS
VIEJAS (Ageless Facades) and this work is also represented
at Galeria Merida, www.galeriamerida,
in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. All work can be seen by appointment
at her home in Cabin John, Maryland.
Each photograph is printed by the artist
