Born in New York City, Judith Turim has lived in the Washington D.C. area for many years. She graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the Tyler School of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and a Master of Arts from the American University in Washington.
Ms Turim’s work has been inspired by classical and mythological themes that form the basis of Western visual culture. Her interest is to turn this old world inspiration into a modern style.
Over the past ten years, she has developed a paint/print technique using acrylics and polymer medium to deconstruct and reintegrate the constituent layers of an image. The unique quality of her work derives in large part from this process.
Ms. Turim has had a number of one-person and group shows in Washington and New York and has been reviewed in a number of publications including Art News and Art in America. Her work is in a number of private collections. |
