Marcos Teixeira arrived in the United States, a certified gemologist, ready to do business selling precious and semi-precious gemstones. He soon discovered that he much preferred to work with the stones himself to create beautiful one-of-a-kind jewelry. His very first piece was juried and then displayed at a show at New York City's Fashion Institute of Technology, where he studied.

Marcos has been designing and creating works of art in gold, silver, and platinum at the Torpedo Factory Art Center since 1996. His artistic interests have led him to now explore sculpture and you can see some of his work in alabaster and terra cotta at his studio.
