I have been a practicing artist for as
long as I can recall. I enjoy both painting and printmaking,
earning degrees in both areas and accumulating various awards
for the work. When printmaking, I utilize all the various
methods: etching, relief, intaglio, monoprint (a series of
similar though not the same image), monotype (one of a kind)
and mezzotint. Some work has a combination of two or more
techniques. I also worked with serigraphy for 15 years. Prints
are still available. I expect that I will be forever changing
style and technique as opposed to feeling locked in to any
one approach. I feel that there is always something new to
experiment with and I see that certain images belong to certain
methods. That is the way I work.
I have won several printmakingk/painting
awards the past 10 years and am currently showing work at
the Greenleaf Gallery (Duck, NC), Silver Bonsai Gallery (Manteo,
NC) and the Sarah Jessica Fine Arts Gallery (Provincetown,
Mass). Prices range from technique, size and commission. I
was in a studio at the Torpedo Factory from 1976 to 1996.
Returning to this area I hope to fine a space again.
