Lane Palmisano is an imaginative oil painter enamored with the lush, luminescent properties of the medium. Lane is a multi-faceted colorist equally enthralled with landscape, the figurative and still life. Her recent paintings are evocative landscapes drenched in color. She combines a loose, impasto application using palette knife and brush along with glazing techniques, layering her work with veils of paint. This process gives these paintings an unusual texture and luminosity. Her sensual use of color pays tribute to the art of Turner, Cezanne, and Gauguin.
Her works are in private and public collections throughout the world.
Currently, her studio is open weekly to the public at the Torpedo Factory Art Center, in Alexandria, Virginia. |
