Joan C. Kasprzak's pottery combines
unique thrown and hand built components. Each piece is glazed
with dynamic colors and designs, many of which are applied
using an airbrish. Her innovative, contemporary designs reflect
an Oriental influence. She is deeply influenced by the beauty
of nature, the grandeur of architecture and the design motifs
of Japanese Oribe Ware. The artist is an American Orchid Society
judge and served as Master Gardender for Montgomery County
Extension Service.
Ms. Kasprzak was the recipient of the
"1998 Torpedo Factory Art Center Artist of the Year Award."

served as the Juror for this award which is sponsored by The
Friends of the Torpedo Factory. As recipient of this award,
Ms. Kasprzak had a solo exhibit of her art in the Target Gallery
in the Torpedo Factory, May 12 to June 20, 1999. See Lead
