Some form of art has always been a part
of Joan's life. She draws from the cultures, climates, and
environments in her travels throughout the United States and
abroad. She has studied and worked in all media, with concentration
over the years in oils and pastels. Painting offers constant
experimentation with warm and cool values, tones, and plays
of light to capture the mood and essence of a place and time.
She works mainly in "naturescapes" (land, sea, and
sky) and in florals. She delights in capturing beauty with
a sense of peace.
