Mina Oka Hanig, a Washington DC
area artist born and raised in Japan, tells stories with imagery
that blends the representational and the abstract. Images
peek through unique shapes of beautifully layered translucent
paint, reminiscent of abstract watercolor. She works in acrylic
and mixed media on canvas and paper, and often in a long format
resembling Japanese scrolls. Additional samples of her work
can be seen on the Foundry Gallery website at www.foundrygallery.org
