I was born and raised in small towns in Missouri but have lived most of my adult life in northern Virginia. I graduated with a B.S. in Art Education from Missouri State University and studied painting at The Art League in Alexandria, Virginia.
My work primarily consists of realistic oil paintings on canvas but I also sometimes work with pastels, colored pencil, and gouache on paper. I enjoy a variety of subject matter — still life, landscape, pets, and figures. In my representational work, I often depict intricate detail, pattern, transparencies, and reflections. I like to borrow elements of glassware and metal to create fluid, lyrical, abstractions.
My prices generally run from $100.00 to $3,000.00. Most are in the $500-$1700 range. I consider commissions of all types of subject matter. See my work on the Commissions page on this website for more information and check out my personal website www.bettygrishamstudio.com.
My days and hours in the studio vary so please call for an appointment if you would like to visit me to discuss a possible commission and to look at your reference photos. |
