Abstraction, simplicity,
and limited color always take preference in my work.
I think like a quilter - rather than fabric,
my patterns are hand printed from woodblocks onto thin Asian
papers. These papers, carefully juxtaposed onto a painted
plexiglas plate are run through the press and transfered onto
BFK paper. (This process is called Chine Colle). I then "finish"
the work by adding pencil, crayon, wax, thread, etc.
I am also a mixed-media painter and when I need to relax,
I knit.
My works are in numerous corporate and
private collections as well as State Department embassies
and consulates around the world.
