This series of paintings developed by building many layers
of color around a structure of geometric forms that sat on
and in the negative and positive space. The oil paint was
layered,scraped,wiped off, and manipulated to add depth and
dimension to the paintings.
With the addition of colored pencil I could define the geometry
that evolved as I worked.
The finished work is a series of seemingly
charred, weathered, eroded timelines that hint of industrial
landscapes, fragments of something familiar and not so familiar
with a touch of destruction.
