My energy source and ideas for creating
abstract art springs from a deep almost unconscious level.
I give thought to the work before I begin but try not to let
myself be restricted by preconceived ideas. Many of my paintings
start out with representations from figure or still life.
A bolder undertaking begins when I transform, or even destroy
these first images, and make them become "something else".
I am amused by my own unpredictability while creating the
work. I find the greatest pleasure of this creative challenge
is the delight and surprise I experience in the outcome, when
I have the courage to let things go.
