Matthew Tito Cuenca is a product of a multi-cultural, multi-racial, multi-religious household. He spent his childhood living evenly between Chicago, IL and Jacksonville, FL. At the age of 17 he moved to New York City and studied at Parsons School of Design where he received a BFA in 1991. He has also continued art-related studies at Cooper Union for architectural illustration and at the Art Students League of New York for sculpture.

After graduation from Parsons he began a 15-year career in fashion as a clothing designer for notable design companies such as Oleg Cassini and Bill Blass. Although immersed in the fashion industry, he continued to moonlight as a freelance artist for numerous publishing companies, which included Harper Collins Trophy and Moody Publishing. By Spring 2000, he added the role of Associate Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology to his workload. In the aftermath of 9/11, Matthew decided to move to Paris where he rekindled his passion for art began the next phase of his life as a full-time Fine Artist. Currently he resides in Alexandria, VA.

Matthew's artwork has been exhibited in several invitational and one person shows throughout North America, Europe and South East Asia. In addition to his Fine Art work, Matthew's commercial art can be found in various periodicals, children's books and RPG game manuals. He is a member of TFAC, Del Ray Artisans, the Art League, Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators, and the Society of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists.
