I prefer to work in series in order to
explore a single theme, although the series are related by
underlying ideas that are important to me. My recent work
incorporates "realistic" imagery, but it develops
in ways more typical of abstract painting. The primary medium
is acrylic, but mixed media is common. Paint handling is investigatory,
and it may take a long time to finish a painting. I value
the resulting layers and surface quality, which I consider
intrinsically content laden.
