Christine Cardellino usually works in series in order to explore ideas that engage her. However, all her paintings are related by underlying themes. While her work usually incorporates "realistic" or graphically realized images, it develops in ways more typical of abstract painting. Her approach is investigatory, and she has no preconceived notion regarding the final state of a piece. Using acrylic and mixed media, she tries to create a multi-layered image complex.
