Michael Borek is originally from Prague, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic). He began experimenting seriously with photography in the late 1990s. His work blossomed after he built a digital darkroom and studio in his home and devoted hours to becoming proficient in digital techniques.

As a former European, he is fascinated by the older and dilapidated parts of American cities and their dreamlike atmosphere. In his photography, he tries to capture scenes that have a life of their own and show that they are beautifully absurd and unintentional byproducts of human aspirations, with time adding the finishing touches.

All photographs are printed in limited editions with archival pigmented inks. The prices range from $300 to $845 depending on the size and number in edition.
