Ann
Barbieri was born in Washington D.C. She attended Trinity
College there and later studied art at UCLA and The Corcoran
School of Art.
Her work had been called exuberant. She often starts with
a scene from nature or an interior, working on paper and incorporating
collage to achieve varied textures. Her paintings are informed
by a lively sense of color. She draws regularly from the model
and has completed many portrait commissions in her loose,
colorful style.
Barbieri has exhibited in solo and group shows throughout
the DC area, at Touchstone Gallery and, more recently, at
the Twentieth Century Gallery in Williamsburg, VA.
Ann
Barbieri was selected as the "Artist of the Year"
in 2004 by the Friends of the Torpedo Factory.
She
has had one-person shows at the Art League and at the Target
Gallery in Alexandria, VA. Price range is $500 - $3500.
