Now in its third year, the goal of the Visiting Artist Program is to expose The Torpedo Factory Art Center’s visitors and patrons to a rotating group of accomplished artists and provide a unique opportunity to interact, explore and exchange ideas.
Sixteen artists, from among forty-five applicants, were selected to be this year's Visiting Artists by juror Paula Amt, a painter and the owner of gallery plan b and Framesmith DC. Throughout the length of the program, June through August 2012, the Visiting Artists will be working in studios throughout the art center and will be actively involved in art enrichment events in which they will demonstrate and discuss their work. The artists will be at the Torpedo Factory for one or two months.
